Christmas is my favorite time of year next to Halloween. Last year, my death metal band Mangled Carpenter was proud to have the song "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentleman" on Rottweiler Records yearly Christmas album "Fleas Naughty Dog Vol. 8".
We are excited to be part of this tradition again this year with our song "Christmas All Around" on "Fleas Naughty Dog Vol. 9".
This is a song I've wanted to cover ever since I saw one of my holiday favorites, Love Actually (2003) directed by Richard Curtis. The movie opens with an aging Rock Star, Billy Mack, recording vocals for a Christmas version of the famous love song "Love is All Around". Squeezing an extra syllable in the line "If you really love Christmas, come on and let it snow." It was just begging to get a brutal death metal/grindcore version.
