The Beach House (2020) movie review

Jeff Jefferies, MoreHorror,

The Beach House (2020) is a creepy and effective horror film that fans of Lovecraftian tales will particularly enjoy.

The release of The Beach House was quite fitting during the recent 2020 pandemic, as similar topics are relevant in the movie.

The film gets under the skin, the cinematography is top-notch and the special fx are on point. I really enjoyed the overall vibe of this film, and although some of the characters are a bit on the boring side, it's still a fun ride for the most part.

Hoping to reignite their relationship, college students Emily (Liberato) and Randall (Le Gros) arrive at their weekend getaway only to discover a peculiar older couple already staying there. They all agree to share the home but, after an indulgent night of partying, they’re awoken to a living nightmare of apocalyptic proportions. A mysterious airborne microbe has infected the water and it’s making its way to the house.

The Beach House is the directorial feature debut of Jeffrey A. Brown who also wrote the screenplay. Starring  Liana Liberato (“Light as a Feather”), Noah Le Gros (A Score to Settle), Maryann Nagel and Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead, “13 Reasons Why”). RLJE Films will release the film on December 15, 2020, on VOD, Digital HD, DVD and Blu-ray.

If you like supernatural horror thrillers, you'll want to add this film to your library!
