SYNOPSIS
Sarah Collins (Sarah Bolger, "Mayans M.C.," The Spiderwick Chronicles, Emelie), is a single mother struggling to raise two young children while searching for answers about the unsolved murder of her husband. After being coerced into helping a low-level drug dealer, she finds herself the target of a dangerous crime boss. Desperate to keep her family safe, Sarah turns the tables on her victimizers in one final act of brutal vengeance. Set in the dark underbelly of Northern Ireland, Abner Pastoll's A GOOD WOMAN IS HARD TO FIND is a lean, mean, painfully real crime thriller featuring "one hell of a performance' by Sarah Bolger that 'will make you cheer [for] her ability to overcome the worst of humanity and come out the other end kicking all sorts of ass" (Slash Film).
Following its UK premiere at FrightFest, where it captured five awards including "Best Film" and "Best Actor," and its US Premiere at L.A.'s Screamfest, where Bolger won "Best Actress," A GOOD WOMAN IS HARD TO FIND, with its finger firmly on the pulse of stark social commentary and shattering suspense, has become an audience and critical fave. Michael Gingold of Rue Morgue Magazine writes, "Well-crafted on every level, A Good Woman is Hard to Find works above all because of how attuned it is to its people.... And if you want to find one of the very best performances by a woman on the recent genre scene, you need look no further." Becky Sayers of Dread Central says "Reminiscent of a European take on South Korean vengeance stories, Director Abner Pastoll rewards genre lovers with a brutal crescendo that is unexpected yet wholly gratifying". And Kevin Taft of EDGE Media Network pens "featuring an Oscar-worthy performance from Sarah Bolger, this tense thriller will have you biting your nails and cheering for the bad guys to get their due...One of the most engrossing and well-made thrillers of recent years, A Good Woman is Hard to Find also features a career-making performance by Sarah Bolger...with the Academy allowing movies that didn't have theatrical releases to qualify, it would be nice to see performances like Bolger's celebrated. It's about time the usual suspects get a break, and we applaud actors doing exemplary work in smaller films. Hopefully, with quarantine still in effect, audiences will find this "Woman" and realize how "good" she is."
