By The Crawlspace, 'Internal Unrest', the first single from the debut Brain Matter album 'Someone to Devour' hit number one on The Implosion from TheBlast.FM for the weeks of February 12 and 19, 2022.

In celebration of the occasion, the band decided to release a lyric video for the song, which can be seen below the details.

"Internal Unrest started with our bassist Kristeffor hearing the lyric 'Killing me inside, it's killing me inside, it's killing me...', repeating over and over in his head. I took that foundation and crafted the rest of the lyrics to encompass the conflict we all have between our sinful nature and spiritual progression. The song is based on our own experiences, and from a mental perspective of my late 20s when I was struggling with extreme depression, had become distant from God, and was desperate to find a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel. Echoing my journey as a prodigal, as it were." - Seth Metoyer, Guitars/Vocals/Programming for Brain Matter
