Stargirl Music Score: Composing Outside the Box

For this year's Spitfire Audio movie scoring competition, we got a dope Stargirl TV Series scene from the kind folks at DC to put music to. This one was a blast!

Along with cinematic textures and strings, I wanted to do something a little outside the box, so I decided to record guitars for the "robot hero sequence". Maybe I was listening to Queen's 'FLASH' movie score a little too much, or I was just in a guitar mood while recording a heavy metal music project I've also been working on. Whatever it was, I really wanted to add some get-up-and-go during the action sequence.

Another aspect of this score I particularly liked was how the "chatter strings" add some extra trepidation to the "pick-up truck entrance" towards the end. The rest of the music score consists of strings, horns (for the villain reveal), cinematic pads, and orchestral drums.

Thanks for watching and listening to my score! Check it below, and contact me if you need any music scored for your project!
