Any true horror fan (as well as any casual horror fan) has heard of FANGORIA . The quintessential horror movie magazine for many of us from the 80s through the 90s and beyond hold this publication dear to our hearts. Check out the newest announcements and direction of the outlet that is sure to keep horror movie fans, old and new doused in bloody goodness.
FANGORIA now has a website to accompany its magazine after forty years of print. Since it’s resurrection last year, the iconic horror brand has extended the franchise into films, podcasts, and books.
FANGORIA, which turned 40 this year, is the storied media company that has served as “The First in Fright” since 1979. The fright is going online with the new website, which is intended to serve as a single landing page for the best in horror. This week they announced the launch of the new FANGORIA.COM website: Your Homepage for Horror.
FANGORIA.com will serve as a digital home for all the great content that doesn’t fit into the magazine’s 100 pages. It will feature original long-form pieces, deep dives, and daily thoughts from the biggest names in horror. In addition to the original content, FANGORIA.com will aggregate and carefully curate the best links, articles, and soundbites from across the world wide web of terror.
Visitors to the site can expect words from FANGORIA’s Editor-in-Chief Phil Nobile Jr., as he extends his editorial duties into the online space, with an incredible selection of new articles each week from the brightest minds and biggest voices in the genre. New features will be debuted regularly. Need tickets to horror movies in theaters? Buy them right on the site from our partners at Atom Tickets! From the latest on the FANGORIA Podcast Network (including POST MORTEM WITH MICK GARRIS, CASUALTY FRIDAY, and THE MOVIE CRYPT) to a constantly growing online archive (starting with the first five issues of the 1979 run), the digital archive on FANGORIA.com is already bursting at the seams.
While FANGORIA.com will be the “first click of the day” for die-hard horror fans, the site will lead viewers to other pages, those of our friends in the genre, who are breaking horror news daily. The website will lend a trusted voice to the online landscape, while amplifying the consistent work being done by the sites of our peers, like Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central. The FANGORIA.com home page is a constantly updating selection of the most important links and stories of the day, from all across the internet.
Right now, all subscribers to the magazine are automatically members of FANGORIA.com, part of the new FANGORIA+ package. New readers can choose between the FANGORIA+ Membership ($79.99 annually, including four issues of the magazine, full digital access, invitations to special events and screenings, and more), or an online-only subscription (one year of full digital access for, appropriately, $19.79). The curated links on the landing page (and your first three articles of the month) will always be free.
FANGORIA readers can rest easy knowing that the content of our quarterly magazine will, as promised, remain exclusive to the printed page. We’ll take that promise to our grave!
“Our print-only first year was a statement, a commitment to the analog experience, and we stand by that decision for the magazine. With FANGORIA.com, we’ve found a path to re-enter the online space in a way that honors and fits into the thriving community of online horror,” Editor-in-Chief Phil Nobile adds.
Start your day with FANGORIA.com.
